Tucson Youth 411

This project focuses on preventing/delaying first use of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs. Youth enrolled in this project will: 1) learn the effects of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and other drugs on the brain and body, 2) build resilience against substance use, 3) develop skills to cope with stressful situations, communicate about emotions, and make healthy decisions, and 4) improve their knowledge of mental wellness and mental health resources in the community. The project uses the Too Good evidence-based curriculum to develop knowledge and skills.

Axios/" I am Worthy" Project

This project aims to reduce juvenile delinquency and violence. The project uses the Too Good evidence-based curriculum to build skills with youth to: 1) prevent or lessen aggressive behaviors, 2) Learn more effective communication, 3) resolve conflicts, 4) increase pro-social skills and 5) increase healthy desicion-making. Additionally, youth participants will have access to mental health and substance use counseling. This project also has a mentoring component, where youth can receive 1-1 mentoring or school-based mentoring.

Family Strengthening

Since 2000, the Pima Prevention Partnership has been providing parenting skills training and family strengthening workshops in Pima and Maricopa Counties. The major goal of the Strengthening Arizona’s Families (SAF) Program is to help families avoid substance use and other unhealthy risk behaviors among their children.
Teen Pregnancy Prevention

Since 1998, Pima Prevention Partnership’s B-Unique Teen Pregnancy Prevention program has focused on building healthy relationships, teen pregnancy prevention, and STD/HIV prevention education for 8,000pre-teens and teens each year in Pima and Maricopa Counties.
