PARENT/CAREGIVER WORKSHOPS

Since 2000, Pima Prevention Partnership has been providing parenting skills, training, and family strengthening workshops in Pima and Maricopa Counties. Currently, services are only available in Pima County, The major goal of our parent/caregiver workshops is to help families avoid substance use and other unhealthy risk behaviors among their children. This is achieved through best practices,  evidence-based or evidence-informed curricula. All programs are provided free of charge and available to the community. Programs and workshops are conducted on site with your group with some program curricula offered in Spanish.

 

Good parenting skills develop over time. Families become stronger with education, knowledge, and skill building.

Family Reading Together

ONE DAY WORKSHOPS

We offer 1.5-2 hours workshops for parents and caregivers to increase their knowledge about current issues affecting their youth. Workshops are available for the following topics:​

  • Increase bonding

  • Communication skills

  • Increase protective factors

  • Reduce family conflict

  • Peer pressure

  • Youth substance use prevention

  • Healthy relationships

  • Importance of family involvement with youth

  • For parents/caregivers of youth ages 9-14

  • Total of 5 weekly sessions, 1 session the youth participates with parent/caregiver

Active Parenting curriculum

  • For parents/caregivers of youth ages 5-12

  • Total of 3 weekly sessions

Strengthening Arizona Families

Strengthening Families curriculum

  • For parents/caregivers of youth ages 10-14

  • Youth and parent/caregiver participate together

  • Total of 6 weekly sessions

Staying Connected to Your Teen curriculum

  • For parents/caregivers of youth ages 12-17

  • Youth and parent/caregiver participate together

  • Offered in-person and hybrid

  • Total of 5 weekly sessions
