Public Policy Initiatives

Since 2003, PPP has successfully pursued public policy initiatives resulting in ground-breaking community research and reports on high-risk children of prisoners and children exposed to domestic violence and children exposed to parental arrest. This research has led to regional systems change within law enforcement and social services agencies. In addition, we have assisted with:

  • Institutionalization of several Tucson tobacco control ordinances, which decreased youth access to tobacco products.
  • Statewide law enforcement protocols to protect children exposed to domestic violence and children exposed to parental arrest.
  • Institutionalization of teen pregnancy prevention programs that now serve thousands of students each year across many school districts.
